Sarah
McTurnan
Sarah McTurnan’s practice has included complex litigation in arbitration and in federal
and state proceedings across the country. She has represented clients in disputes
involving breach of contract and fiduciary duty, fraud, officer and director liability,
insurance coverage, intellectual property rights and claims in bankruptcy litigation.
Ms. McTurnan has performed independent corporate investigations on the behalf of board
members, worked with internal counsel and business executives to provide advice on
contractual and statutory obligations and rights, and on managing and settling disputes
before litigation. She has represented individuals, closely-held companies and multi-million
dollar corporations.
In addition to her regular practice, Ms. McTurnan has represented clients on a pro bono basis
in federal civil rights claims, immigration and foreclosure proceedings.
Prior to starting her own practice, Sarah was an attorney with Grippo & Elden, LLC. She
began her career with Bell, Boyd & Lloyd (now K&L Gates, LP). She has been fortunate to
work with and learn from some of the city’s most talented and experienced attorneys.
Ms. McTurnan graduated from the University of Chicago Law School and is admitted to practice
in the State of Illinois and before the United States District Courts for the Northern
District of Illinois and for the District of Colorado. Sarah obtained her Bachelor’s
degree in English literature from Northwestern University. Before entering law school,
she was a manager with the Northern Trust Company in its operations division.
Sarah was born in Evanston, Illinois and grew up near Indianapolis, Indiana.
